When Pearl Jam released Ten in August of 1991, it wasn't just an album—it was the beginning of a cultural shift.

In this episode, Robert John Hadfield and Gary Casella dive into the grunge explosion that turned glam rock upside down. From the darker, brooding Seattle aesthetic to the heartfelt power of Eddie Vedder's lyrics, this video explores the full impact of Ten—and how it fit into a moment where Nirvana, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, and Temple of the Dog were rewriting the rules.

📀 We unbox a vinyl reissue of Ten, discuss the roots of the band (including the transition from Mother Love Bone and the creation of Temple of the Dog), and reflect on what made this era so raw, emotional, and unforgettable.

💬 Plus: a vintage review from 1991, Eddie and Chris’s duet in Hunger Strike, memories of the Jeremy video, and that wild early tour with the Chili Peppers and Smashing Pumpkins.
