KERRANG - Vintage Magazine Haul! Anthrax, Vixen, Skid Row, White Lion, Guns N Roses and More
KERRANG! Magazine Haul – Anthrax, Vixen, Skid Row, White Lion & MORE!
Description:
In this episode, Robert John Hadfield and Gary Casella dive deep into a stack of vintage KERRANG! magazines from the late 1980s. From flexi discs and obscure British metal acts to Anthrax, White Lion, Vixen, Rush, and even pimple cream ads for the “heavy metal crowd,” this is a hilarious, nostalgic ride through music history and fan culture.
We talk:
Flexi discs from Anthrax & Disneyland After Dark
Forgotten bands like Shotgun Messiah, 24-7 Spyz, and Balaam and the Angel
Unexpected connections (Nevermore’s bassist worked with Robert!)
The Skid Row explosion, Vixen’s debut, and White Lion’s mysterious disappearing guitarist
And yes... 1980s British acne medication marketing.
If you’re into classic rock, 80s/90s metal, or just love seeing old magazines, you’ll love this one.
